A 44 LP series by Philips available on a subscription of 22 issues of 2 records each running from 1977-1979, the black series or the second series: “The Classics II”.
The subscription included 4 special boxes which could hold 11 LP’s each.
The series numbering is chronological in order of composition era, not in order of release. A “list of repertoire in order of release” was provided on a 12″ sheet bearing the number “4922 000 05497” as identifier, and a “list of composers in alphabetical order” on another 12″ sheet bearing the number “4922 000 05511”.
